How we calculate installer trust scores to help you make informed decisions
The Find Me Solar Trust Score is a comprehensive rating system that combines reviews from multiple trusted platforms to give you a complete picture of an installer's reputation.
Instead of relying on just one review platform, we aggregate ratings from:
- Find Me Solar Reviews - Reviews left directly on our platform
- Trustpilot - Independent review platform
- Google Reviews - Customer feedback from Google
- Yell - UK business directory reviews
- Trust a Trader - Vetted tradespeople platform
- Check a Trade - Trade verification service
Our Trust Score Formula (0-100)
The Trust Score combines two critical factors to give you a comprehensive view of an installer's reliability:
Rating Quality
The average star rating across all platforms, weighted by the number of reviews on each platform. More reviews = more influence on the final score.
Example:
- • Trustpilot: 4.8/5 (150 reviews)
- • Google: 4.6/5 (89 reviews)
- • Trust a Trader: 4.9/5 (62 reviews)
These are combined into a weighted average, giving more weight to platforms with more reviews.
Review Volume
The total number of reviews across all platforms. More reviews mean more customers have shared their experiences, providing greater confidence in the rating.
Why this matters:
An installer with 300 reviews at 4.7 stars is generally more reliable than one with 10 reviews at 5.0 stars. The Trust Score uses a logarithmic scale, so going from 10 to 100 reviews has a bigger impact than going from 100 to 200 reviews.
Final Trust Score
The two components are combined into a single score from 0-100:
In addition to the Trust Score, we also display an Overall Rating on a traditional 5-star scale. This makes it easy to compare installers at a glance.
The Overall Rating is calculated as a weighted average of all star ratings across platforms, with each platform's rating weighted by its review count. Ratings from different scales (like Check a Trade's 0-10) are normalized to 5 stars for consistency.
